Uventhikka Sivanantham

HI!

I was fortunate enough to spend five months studying at the UiT on the peaceful place of Tromsø!

At first, I felt nervous because this was my first flight. However, the idea of a new adventure was too exciting to pass up. Norwegian culture, technology, and even education patterns (Mobile apps, Canvas, etc.) are also different from my native. But one thing was to help me to move forward in my my whole exchange: "People are good".

I was accommodated on the island of Kvaløya. The place was natural and beautiful. One of my most treasured memories from my exchange was chasing the northern lights with some friends. I made friends from different places and got to understand various cultures. Cooking, party nights, picking berries, various field and laboratory sessions, and most importantly, the Helmer Hansson cruise as it is now a part of my life, and these emotions and memories will forever be in my heart and mind.

It was a great learning and socialising experience for me. I had a wonderful time independently and academically in the UiT. I am happy that I had the chance to do Autumn 2022, and I am grateful for the MPhil mobility exchange programme for letting this wonderful journey happen.
