Lean HE Encore 2025 - Free Webinar

This third Lean HE Encore (Europe) webinar will take place on Wednesday 19th March 2025 from 10:00am – 12:30pm (UK time GMT) / 11:00 - 13:30 (CET/GMT+1), hosted by Lean HE Europe and you are invited to attend! 

The event is delivered in English, and the programme includes the following two presentations:

• Microscope? Telescope? Periscope? Kaleidoscope? by Alex Spencer, University of Nottingham, UK.

In this discussion-based workshop, Alex Spencer explores the concept of Gemba and shares how her team are using Gemba to ensure 'active looking' of scenarios and environments. A fun and lighthearted look at what we really see, participants will leave having expanded their idea of what Gemba could include, ready to put that into action and support others to do so too.

• Decision Making in the Wild - How to make good decisions collaboratively when under pressure by Beth Lee Wilson, University of Manchester, UK

Is your organisation going in circles to get a decision? Are "collaborative discussions" resulting in everyone being frustrated? Do you end up escalating decisions endlessly until finally an authority figure makes the choice? Combining theory and real-life scenarios, Beth Lee Wilson guides us through this fascinating session on decision making, including how to identify and make good quality decisions and how we can build capability in "decision intelligence" within our teams and institutions.

A Q&A-discussion session will follow each presentation, and if time permitting there will be a chance to interact with the other participants.
