Job description
Course coordinator of the research course “Scientific Writing and Publishing in Health Sciences” (HEL-8026) at the Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences. During 2015-2024, member of the research group Arctic Health Research. The work involved developing a PhD-program in North-West Russia in a collaboration between UiT and Northern State Medical University in Arkhangelsk, Russia. After the research group was discontinued in 2024, now member of the research group Global and Environmental Health.

Research interests
Alexandra's research encompasses biomedical aspects on atherosclerosis development to public health focus with special emphasis on population-based studies for cardiovascular disease prevention. RSince 2008, Alexandra’s research has focused on global health.
Teaching
To date, Alexandra has supervised 14 PhD-students who have successfully defended their doctoral theses. She has also supervised more than 15 BSc, MSc and master theses. Alexandra has extensive teaching and lecturing experience both nationally and internationally.
