Job description

At the moment I am working in two different projects:

50% as researcher in the EU project ECOTIP, where I

...investigate the ecological links between sea ice, pelagic, and benthos in fjords and Arctic (shelf) seas

...determine the downwards biomass flux in the field with short-term sediment traps (POC, PON, fecal pellets, Chl a, DNA,...)

...examine the role physical drivers on the the downward flux as well as study biological drivers (microalgae/ zooplankton) and their influence on sinking particles

50% in the project administration of the project Arven etter Nansen

In this position, I conduct various tasks, such as

...supporting the project lead by writing meeting minutes, organize meetings, contribute to different reports

...write contributions to the annual report to communicate core results of the project

...write texts for the bimonthly newsletter and the project homepage

...plan the final meeting (incl. making a meeting homepage for it)

...represent the project during the Norwegian Research Days

    Research interests

I am a curious field biologist and my scientific work focusses mainly with the interaction of hydrography and lower trophic levels (mainly algae) in fjords and Arctic seas (Barents Sea, Arctic Ocean). There, I mainly explore the question how physical drivers and biological interactions impact the organic carbon cycle and the export of organic carbon from the pelagic system to the sea floor.
