    Bernhard is currently working on his PhD in Arctic Marine Biology and Technology at UiT - The Arctic University of Norway. He has a background in Industrial Engineering from the Vienna University of Technology, Austria. During his master studies he spent extended periods at the University Centre on Svalbard (UNIS), specialising in Arctic Technology. Before his PhD he has been working for two years as engineer for marine operations in Norwegian industry. His primary research focus is the use of Underwater Hyperspectral Imaging on POPE buoys and on AUVs.
