Senior Engineer (Bioinformatics)

Job description

I work as a bioinformatician in the research group for genetics, NFH.  My main area of interest is the next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis: it includes genome assemblies, extracting the mitogenomes from those data, calling variants. I work as a population geneticist in the group too.  I do some third-generation sequencing data analysis, specifically from Pacbio.  Along with these tasks, I participate in the teaching bioinformatics courses: FSK 2053, FSK 3053 and also supervision of students. I am the contact person from the group for all IT related things and also responsible for maintaining the computation and data storage servers for the group.
