Job description

Garcia engages in teaching and conducts research in the fields of clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice. Her research primarily focuses on recognizing and effectively utilizing pharmacist competence in healthcare services. This involves investigating the proper use of medications, encompassing aspects from the patient to the prescriber, as well as the healthcare team's working methods and communication regarding medications.

In her role as an educator and supervisor, Garcia is responsible for overseeing the clinical placements of pharmacy students in the first year of their Master's program. Additionally, she annually supervises 2-3 students who are working on research projects related to their Master's theses.

Acknowledgments:

In 2014 Garcia was announced "Teacher of the year" at the Faculty of Health Sciences at UiT.
In 2024, Garcia advanced to the title as "Meritted Teacher" at UiT.
