Malin Johansson

Associate Professor / Earth Observation

Job description

In the Earth Observation group we connect remote sensing with numerical modelling and in-situ data for improved understanding of Arctic sea ice properites and monitoring, and environmental monitoring such as oil spills and harmful algae blooms. The remote sensing work primarily uses synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical satellite images. My work primarily focuses on multi-frequency observations.

I'm presently supervising UiT PhD students:

Truls Karlsen (multi-frequency sea ice observations)

Victor de Aguiar (combining remote sensing and numerical modelling for environmental monitoring)
