    Medical Thermography

Since the start of 2001 I have been leading a small research group in the field of Medical Thermography (infrared thermal imaging).  At the Department of Radiology, University Hospital North Norway (UNN), we have a dedicated medicalthermography. We have collaborative projects with several different departments at UNN. This laboratory is the first of its kind in Norway. The Department of Radiology UNN has financed the expertise we needed to couple the infrared camera software system to the hospitals image and retrival (IMPAX) system. The system also allows medical personnel the possibility of ordering a thermographic examination for patients electronically, just as they can order an x-ray, CT, MRI etc. Processed images are then stored on the IMPAX system. Our laboratory at UNN is the most sophisticated of its kind in Scandinavia for thermographic examinations.
