Job description
The objective of my research is to establish a marine gammaproteobacteria as platforms for synthetic biology and blue-biotechnology applications, and to also elucidate the biologial determinants that cause differences in performance of synthetic genetic circuits between chassis.
The fruits of the first study will lead the direction of the second study, directed evolution by use of CRISPR Interference device, which allows us turn on and off a hypermutative state of a bacteria. Coupled with an environmental pressure, the goal is to achieve a fitness gain against that pressure and elucidate it at a sequence level.
