    Research interests

My research focuses on the neurobiology of feeding and reward. In other words, how do we make choices about the foods we eat and how is our psychology affected by these choices. In particular, I am interested in how the nutrient content of food (e.g. protein, salt, sugar etc.) is signaled to the brain and how this may change when we are in need of a certain nutrient. My lab studies these topics using a combination of in vivo neuroscience techniques including voltammetry, fiber photometry and electrophysiology.
