Job description
My research project mainly focuses on analyzing the nutrient content of marine low-trophic level species, like micro- and macro-algae, copepods (e.g. Calanus finmarchicus) and mesopelagic fish, and try to discover any bioactive component they contain.
Research interests
- nutrient content (protein - amino acids, lipid - free fatty acids, water and ash)
- bioactive component and bioactivity analyses (cell-based assays)
- in vitro assay
- isolation of bioactive components
- optimization of lipid extraction protocols aimed for different sample raw materials
