Inbound student exchange: exchange for studies and traineeships

Before starting the application for admission to UiT on a semester exchange student, you must be nominated electronically on a valid agreement between your home university and UiT The Arctic University of Norway.

BILATERAL STUDENTS FROM NON-EU UNIVERSITIES
Bilateral exchange students are from universities or colleges outside Europe. You must be nominated electronically by your exchange coordinator or the international office at your home university or college to be able to apply for exchange at UiT.

ERASMUS+ STUDENTS FROM EU UNIVERSITIES
Erasmus+ exchange students are from European universities participating in the Erasmus+ programme. You must be electronically nominated by your exchange coordinator or the international office at your home university or college to be able to apply for exchange at UiT.

FULBRIGHT STUDENTS & SCHOLARS FROM THE U.S.
Fulbright U.S. exchange students and scholars are from American universities and college. If you have successfully received Fulbright stipends from Fulbright Norway, you can be electronically nominated by the Fulbright coordinator at UiT. You can find detailed information about the procedures in the link below.
NORDLYS/NORDPLUS STUDENTS & SCHOLARS FROM THE BALTIC & NORDIC AREA
Nordplus/Nordlys exchange students are from Nordic and Baltic universities or colleges. You must be electronically nominated by your exchange/Nordplus/Nordlys coordinator or the international office at your home university or college to be able to apply for exchange at UiT.

NORTH2NORTH-RECIPIENT STUDENTS
North2North is an exchange programme with universities and colleges throughout Denmark, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Canada, the United States, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland. You must be electronically nominated by your home university or college to be able to participate in the North2North exchange or scholarship programme. You can find the list of contact person at your university on this website.

PROJECT-BASED NON-EU STUDENTS
Project-based exchange students are nomintaed to UiT through the following programmes: Erasmus+ Global (non-European universities, EURASIA (universities from the Eurasia region), INTPART (International Partnerships for Excellent Education, Research and Innovation), NORHED (universities from developping countries), NORPART (Norwegian Partnership for Global Academic Cooperation) NOTED (Norwegian Partnership for International Teacher Education) & UTFORSK (Cooperation with universities in Brazil, Canada, China, India, Japan, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, and the USA).
You must be electronically nominated by your exchange/project coordinator at your home university or college to be able to apply for exchange to UiT.

SCHOLARSHIP-BASED STUDENTS
Scholarship-based exchange Russian students are nomintaed to UiT through the following cooperation programmes with Russian universities: Barents+, Eurasia, Intpart, Norhed, Norpart, Noted & Utforsk.

EXCHANGE TO UNIS
The University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) is not an accredited institution, and as such exchange students from universities that have a formal agreement with UiT The Arctic University of Norway, can apply to UNIS for courses and research and be registered as a student at UiT after being accepted by UNIS.
ACCESS TO NOMINATION WEB (FOR PARTNER UNIVERSITIES)
UiT The Arctic University of Norway uses an online nomination service for nomination of incoming exchange students on semester exchange. The nomination service is called Nomination Web. The Nominaiton Web is used by many universities in Norway. It is therefore very important that you choose "UiT The Arctic University of Norway" when you are logging to nominate your student(s) .
HEALTH & CARE SCIENCES TRAINEESHIPS
The Department of Health and Care Sciences is delighted to welcome Health & Care traineeship students within the following programmes: Bilateral (agreements with non-European universities), Erasmus+, Nordplus/Nordlys (network agreements with Nordic & Baltic universities) and North2North (network agreements with member universities of the UArctic).
SHORT-STAY ERASMUS+ STUDENTS
The Erasmus+ Short-Term Exchange is an opportunity to develop and/or acquire new relevant academic and research skills, participate in a particular training/course or carry out research work necessary for the successful preparation of your dissertation/thesis at UiT
It offers you the frame and flexibility to complete a short-term mobility (5-30 days physical mobility combined or not with a virtual component) and gain international experience during your stay at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
VISITING STUDENTS (FREEMOVERS) & GUEST RESEARCHERS
There are TWO types of Visiting Students:
- Freemovers applying to single course modules: freemovers are students from universities that do not have an Exchange Agreement with UiT.
- Guest Erasmus+ Traineeships: students from Erasmus+ universities that do not have an Exchange Agreement with UiT.
