Course content
There is growing evidence that in many places new species are emerging at a greater pace, with a higher frequency and in circumstances that more traditional models of evolution would not predict. It is now clear that ecological processes can be a major driver of evolutionary change. Using examples drawn from a wide range of species, we will explore the main elements of our current understanding of the evolutionary processes that gave rise to the diversity of life on earth. Throughout there will be a strong emphasis on recent developments in our knowledge of the ecological consequences of the evolutionary macanisms and particular the role that ecological processes play in promoting evolutionary change.Error rendering component
