Molecular bioinformatics

We build dynamic models of biological processes based on new and existing biochemical and expression data. Our current interests are influences of nutrition and temperature on circadian rhythms. We furthermore build dynamic models of mammalian metabolism currently focusing on Tryptopan- and NAD-metabolism. 

We always work in close collaboration with experimental groups as model building is an iterative process of simulation and experimental verification of model hypothesis. It furthermore guides the development of our models and usually defines the aim of the modeling approach. In turn the modeling can help to guide and limit experimental measurements.
