Objectives of the course
The students have the following learning outcomes:
Knowledge:
The student:
- knows correct English usage in different contexts
- knows specific terminology and expressions in business and other specialist fields
- has knowledge of formal aspects of various written types of document
- is able to discuss and present theoretical and professional topics from various business context.
Skills:
The student:
- has improved his/hers written English
- is able to write different types of business texts in English
- has acquired more vocabulary and some specific terminology
- is able to present and discuss the knowledge he/she has acquired in good spoken and written English.
Assessment
The following coursework requirements must be completed and approved in order to take the final exam:
Coursework requirements: 2 written assignments/exercises + 1 oral presentation (10 min). The work requirements are assessed as approved/not approved.
Assessment method: 4-hour written school exam.
Performance in the course will be assessed on an A-F grades scale. Grades are A-E for passed and F for failed. A re-sit examination is offered in the event of an F grade. The deadline to register for a re-sit examination is January 15th for the autumn semester and August 15th for the spring semester.
