Kjersti Lillevoll
Job description
Kjersti R. Lillevoll is an associate professor in the research group for clinical psychology at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Health Sciences, and serves as the program director for the clinical psychology program. She is a trained clinical psychologist and has worked in both mental and somatic health services, particularly with adults who have long-term and complex health issues. Her academic interests revolve around various topics in mental health, prevention, and treatment.
Lillevoll has 30 % of her position within UiTs team for fitness to practice.

Research projects
2022-2028: "Viewing your body from the inside and out (VYBINO): Body image, interoceptive awareness, and BMI in women: exploring interactions in the course of an eating disorder." In this project, we investigate whether there is a connection between interoception, body image, and BMI in women with eating problems. The project is a research program project with psychology student Lise Gulli Brokjøb, in collaboration with Northumbria University.
2016-2020: CFS/ME in the north: Symptoms and function in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis. This study examines symptoms and function with repeated measurements over three months, using, among other things, actigraphy.
2019-2024: Patient-reported experience in child and adolescent mental health care. Aspects of patients' mental health status and life situation as predictors of user satisfaction. In this project, patients and their parents' satisfaction with the services at the child and adolescent psychiatric department are examined. The project is a double qualification project in collaboration with the University Hospital of North Norway. Ph.D. student: Yngvild Arnesen. Project leader: Børge Mathiassen.
2022-2025: "Effects of skills training in cognitive therapy for social anxiety disorder: A dismantling study." In this project, we investigate whether different forms of training in cognitive therapy result in differences in outcomes. The project is a collaboration with the Norwegian Association for Cognitive Therapy. Project leader: Veronica Lorentzen.
2020-2024: "The head and heart connection." A project on the mental health of heart patients. In this project, we examine mental health before and after the first heart attack in heart patients. The project is based on data from the Tromsø Study. Project leader: Geir Lorem

Project
Psy-sam: Sami cultural competence in psychology education. The overarching goal of this project is to integrate Sami cultural competence and perspectives relevant to mental health work, specifically in the practice of psychologists. This project is financed by the Programme for quality in education 2023.
