    Research interests

I am interested in how changes in the environment affect interactions between individuals of the same and different species and how such changes affect demographic processes in the populations, the size and demographic composition of the populations, and the composition of ecosystems. In this work, my focus is on using suitable statistical methods to quantify observed relationships, often in combination with deterministic and stochastic mathematical models to understand observed ecological phenomena and predict what may happen next. In order to be able to know what is happening in the ecosystems and what is the cause of observed developments, I am particularly engaged in "Climate-ecological observatory of arctic tundra" (COAT), which is the most important provider of data from, and analyses of, terrestrial ecosystems in northern Norway and Svalbard.
