The One Health Education and Research Workshop

The workshop is organized by the One Health Project at UIT – The Urban-
Suburban Nexus Towards a One Health Approach - Funded
by NORAD through the NORHED II program.

The One Health approach emphasizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and ecosystem health, recognizing that global challenges such as climate change, urbanization, and habitat loss increase the risk of disease outbreaks and spread. This framework advocates for collaborative, cross-disciplinary efforts to address these issues holistically, with specialists from various sectors working together locally, nationally, and globally to develop strategies prioritising the health of all life forms and their shared environment.
The project aims to address research and training gaps in One Health. It has developed a novel One Health study program at both the PhD and MSc levels at AAU and MUST, which will serve as a model for adaptation and upscaling in other countries within the region.
