CASCADE

CASCADE workshop

The CASCADE team had their first workshop in Tromsø.

The CASCADE team had their first workshop held between 12.09 and 15.09 at UiT the Arctic University of Norway. The workshop was successful with interesting talks and fruitful discussions given by researchers/PhD candidates/postdoctoral fellows/faculties from 1Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), USA, 2the University of Southampton, and 3UiT The Arctic University of Norway Tromsø.

List of presentations:

  • Multipoint measurements for multiscale plasmas by Theresa Rexer3
  • Conditions for the Kelvin-Helmholtz Instability in the Polar ionosphere by Andreas Kvammen3
  • GEMINI capabilities and updates by Matt Zettergren1
  • GNSS scintillation and the associated ionospheric conditions in the polar region by Mahith Madhanakumar3
  • New fine-scale auroral imager in Skibotn by Daniel Whiter2
  • Sounding rockets and Simulations by Andres Spicher3
  • Coherent Scatter Large-Scale Turbulence Tracers and E3D Imaging Simulation by Devin Huyghebaert3

  • ISR observations of the ionospheric cusp region by Ingeborg Frøystein3
  • Using time-dependent electron transport simulations to better understand the effects of dynamic auroral precipitations on the ionosphere by Etienne Gavazzi3

The group also had the chance to visit the EISCAT 3D site in Skibotn, guided by the director of EISCAT dr. A. Steuwer.
