Nordkin
Kinship and network foster care has been a prioritised child welfare measure in the Nordic countries for more than 20 years. In the same period, interest in the phenomenon has increased among researchers. We wanted to establish a common arena for Nordic researchers and PhD. students where experiences and knowledge can be exchanged.
The purpose of the research network Nordkin is to strengthen and develop research on kinship and network care in the Nordic region. It is desirable that the members have experience in the area of foster care, but there are no requirements for previous research on foster care in relatives and networks.
In the first place, the time period for the network is limited to 2024-2026, where the specific goals are the following:
• Two digital network meetings a year
• Participation in the international conference EUSARF (2025) via parallel session entitled "Nordic kinship care" (see pictures from the event below )
• Write an article or book based on the sessions
The goals will be able to be adjusted in relation to the researcher network's ideas and wishes.
