Gevorgyan Lab

Facilities

The department of chemistry has all the instruments required for the successful realization of our research topics, and we have full access to these instruments.

We have a glove box (left) and a solvent purification system (right). The catalysts in the glove box enable oxygen and moisture levels below 5 ppm. With the solvent purification system we have access to 8 dry solvents/reagents.

We have 400 and 600 MHz nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometers from Bruker. Both are equipped with autosamplers.

We have a gas chromatography instrument (GC, left) and a gas chromatography mass spec (GC-MS, right) for rapid analysis and quantification of reaction mixtures. Both are equipped with autosamplers.

We have 2 instruments for high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS). One of them is equipped with an autosampler.

We have instruments for supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC, left) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC, right). The SFC is equipped with autosampler and mass spectrometry (MS), and among others is used for separation of enantiomers.

We have vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) and infrared (IR) spectrophotometers.

We have preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) instruments for automated and fast separation of complex mixtures.

We have microscale high pressure reactors with appropriate heating blocks (left) and a pressure reactor for big scale reactions (right).

We have various small equipment for the research, including microwave reactor, freeze dryer, automatic melting point detector etc.

We have dishwashers for laboratory glassware and water purification systems.

Our coffee machines keep us awake and energized for the work.
