The 3rd International Summer School on Sustainable Logistics
Eight students from UiT’s Master’s programme in Industrial Engineering attended the third International Summer School on Sustainable Logistics at Memorial University of Newfoundland, combining academic lectures, campus activities, and conference participation.
The third International Summer School on Sustainable Logistics took place at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John’s, Canada, on 17–20 September 2026. Eight students from UiT’s Master’s programme in Industrial Engineering received support through the UTFORSK project to attend.
The programme featured lectures by Norwegian and Canadian researchers on generative AI and human–AI collaboration in logistics education, as well as satellite data for Arctic energy planning and logistics resilience. A campus tour and social activities provided opportunities for international exchange.
The students also attended the Atlantic Schools of Business (ASB) conference, with presentations on sustainable supplier selection, inventory management and AI for supply chain carbon accounting. These sessions connected their studies in operations research, logistics and supply chain management with current research on sustainability and innovation.
