Smia: Creative Workshop for Students

InnoHub has launched a brand-new student initiative called Smia (the forge) – a creative workshop for students! The aim of Smia is to create a community for creative thinking, innovation and entrepreneurship. 

This community will give students the opportunity to share knowledge and come together to explore their ideas and thoughts alongside their studies. 

Kick-off 2 September

Smia’s official kick-off will take place at InnoHub, directly across the corridor from the MH canteen, on 2 September 2026. More information and a registration link will be available very soon!

Smia is open to all students with an appetite for innovation every Wednesday from 10:00 to 18:00 at InnoHub, located in the Natural and Health Sciences Library in the MH building.

To help develop your skills, we will be running three workshops during the autumn semester. The workshops will cover the idea-development process, from the initial thought stage through to presenting your concept to a jury and fellow students.

Here, you will learn useful techniques that you may quickly find valuable both during and after your studies. At the same time, the initiative will give you the freedom to guide your own learning at your own pace alongside your studies.

PS - the events will primarily be held in Norwegian, making them an excellent chance to develop your Norwegian language skills.
