We in the Pediatric research group study how microorganisms in the gut (the gut microbiome) and their metabolic products change with age, diet, living conditions, chronic diseases and medications.
A deeper understanding of how the gut microbiome develops and is affected by the environment around healthy children and young people can contribute to increased knowledge about how to recognize and treat acute and chronic diseases in childhood.
A prerequisite for such research is that we have reference material from healthy children and young people. You are therefore being asked to participate in this study as part of the healthy population.
