SKJØNN will develop innovative measures aimed at gender balance, diversity and inclusion in academia by strengthening local equality work and national and international knowledge exchange. The project's main goal is to establish a desideratum for practices of discretion that emphasize the need for common sense and moral deliberation in academics inclusion practices, by connecting researchers within FemPhil with managers/practitioners from UiT.
The target groups for the project are decision-makers in various roles within academia, primarily managers and practitioners.
SKJØNN shines light on structural and cultural barriers that prevent the inclusion and integration of marginalized groups within academia and how to adress them.
OUR IMPACT:
In the short term, SKJØNN will provide deeper insight into the informal structures that influence the decision-making process with consequences for how inclusions actually occur.
In the medium term, SKJØNN will develop a desideratum for inclusion that takes into account both theoretical knowledge and practical experiences, which can be used as a blueprint for leaders' decision-making processes in academia.
In the long term, one can expect that SKJØNN will contribute to cultural change by creating a more conscious and inclusive approach to decision-making. Addressing the gray areas in the decision-making process may contribute to increased diversity among staff and leaders in academia.
