This project will establish a network between the teacher educations at UiT - The Arctic University of
Norway, University of Auckland in New Zealand and University of California, Berkeley in USA
The goal of the 4-year project was to establish a network between the teacher educations at UiT - The Arctic University of Norway, University of Auckland, and University of California, Berkeley.
The project had three main objectives:
- To develop the quality of all three participants' teacher education through yearly meetings and joint research on the quality of teacher education.
- To establish staff and student mobility related to this joint research through scholarships for comparative studies.
- To develop common courses for student mobility between all three partners.
For UiT, the aforementioned objectives will be of great importance to develop the quality of our teacher education by studying high quality teacher educations, and get feedback from UC Berkeley and University of Auckland on our education.
The joint study of these three teacher educations will be a platform for developing innovations of teacher education, related to structure, course content, types of integrations, and types of practice. Also, development of joint research and student mobility that works for all participants are important. In addition, this project will develop the teacher-as-researcher focus.
