Workshop on Cosmic Dust and Dusty Plasmas in Ionospheres
We have dedicated this workshop to the memory of our dear colleague
Martin Friedrich (1943-2023).
This workshop was jointly organized by the Dust in the Mesosphere project at UiT Tromsø and the Department of Meteorology (MISU) at Stockholm University. Important starting points are the upcoming MAXIDUSTY-2 rocket campaign by UiT and new opportunities to observe meteors and mesospheric dust with EISCAT_3D. On MAXIDUSTY-2, both MISU and UiT have instruments for dust collection, and ideas for return sample analysis will be part of the workshop.
The workshop is also a continuation of a series of mini workshops on dusty plasma in ionospheres held in previous years by IRF Uppsala, MISU and UiT. Organizers: Jörg Gumbel (MISU Stockholm), Ingrid Mann (UiT Tromsø).
The workshop was organized with financial support from the International Meteorological Institute in Stockholm (IMI).
