MAT-3301 Algebra 3 - 10 ECTS

Type of course

The course is included in the Master's degree program in mathematics. It may also be taken independent of study program upon approval of the Department of mathematics and statistics.

Course content

This course is especially appropriate for masters students in computer security, algebraic number theory or other algebra. Covers Galois theory and commutative algebra. Other topics that may be covered are basic homological algebra and category theory, group representations, algebraic number theory and algebraic geometry.

MAT-2300 Algebra 1

Language of instruction and examination

The language of instruction and the syllabus is English. Examination questions will be given in English, but may be answered either in English or a Scandinavian language.
