Kirsten Katharina Barton Holiman
Job description
About Me
I work as a Senior Adviser at the Faculty of Health Sciences in the Section for Research, Education and Dissemination, and I am part of UiT Info – Helsefak, the faculty’s frontline service for students, staff, collaborators and visitors.
What I enjoy most about my job is meeting and helping people. Every day, I interact with students, applicants, staff members, collaborators and visitors who have different questions and needs. I enjoy providing guidance, finding solutions and helping people access the information and support they need.
My work covers a wide range of areas, including student services, information and communication, academic administration and public engagement. I assist with student and staff enquiries, issue transcripts and official confirmations in both Norwegian and English, publish information on UiT’s digital platforms, and manage content for the faculty’s information screens. I also contribute with translations, coordinate various service functions and participate in working groups and projects across the faculty.
I hold a Cand.Philol. degree from UiT The Arctic University of Norway and have worked at UiT since 2014. Over the years, I have held administrative positions at several departments and faculties, which has given me broad experience in higher education administration, student support and university services.
As a historian by training, I have always been passionate about communication, language and knowledge dissemination. I find it rewarding to make complex information clear and accessible and to contribute to positive experiences for students, colleagues and visitors at UiT.
