The Arctic Student Welfare Organization of Norway, associated with UiT The Arctic University of Norway, has opened a deposit account in Danske Bank for foreign students, where you can deposit the required amount of money. You will have access to your money after arriving in Norway through a Prepaid Card (cash card) until you receive a National Identification Number to open your own Norwegian bank account. The deposit will only be transferred to your Norwegian account or to your cash card.
Student Deposit: Non-EU/EEA students must transfer their proof of financial ability into the Student Deposit account. Once the deposit is received, a Confirmation of Deposit will be issued to apply for Student Visa (Study Permit).
AFTER ADMISSION: The required amount must be transferred within the deadline 1 June to the Student Deposit account. Details regarding this arrangement will be sent to admitted students with their offer of admission. Read more on Student visa deposit for international students.
Applicants from developing countries: In assessing your proof of financial ability, the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) will make reference to your individual circumstances (job, civil status, property ownership and employment history), your economic commitments in your home country, the potential of emigration, the socio-economic condition in your home country to decide whether you should be granted student visa (Study Permit) or not. Therefore, we strongly advice you to upload only genuine and factual proof of financial ability to increase your chance of obtaining a student visa after being offered admission to UiT.
