Advanced Stata – Bristol University

I can recommend this short course to anyone who uses Stata statistical software package for their analyses. The aim of the course is to make the students more efficient users of Stata. The course is well organised, with high quality tutoring and computer exercises to practice after each session.

After writing two papers using Stata for statistical analyses, I still learnt several useful measures to improve my data handling and make my work more efficient. Creating nice tables directly from Stata is one of the things not quite intuitive, now I learned how to do that. I also learned how to use loops for repeating sequences, hopefully sparing me the lengthiest syntaxes and eliminating those annoying mistakes I sometimes make when copying and pasting related commands.

Some knowledge of Stata is a prerequisite for participation in this course, either from an introduction course, or from working with Stata.
