New members of the AI Group

The AI Group is extended with new members and heavy expertise in AI bringing activities across campuses tighter together.

From Bodø we welcome four new members to the research group on AI and machine learning. Martin H. Skjelvareid has a background from signal processing, ultrasound and hyperspectral imaging. He is currently the leader of “MASSIMAL”, a research project utilizing machine learning models to develop better methods for the mapping of underwater vegetation.

Helge Fredriksen has a background from physics and mathematics, and is currently engaged in exploring the use of machine learning for the segmentation of medical images. He shares this interest with Arthur Schuchter, which has a background from medical image processing. His main focus is the utilization of machine learning on CT and MR images to compute 3D voxel-built models of internal body structures.

Øyvin Thuv have a master degree in artificial intelligence, and specializes in various e-health issues where he cooperates with clinicians at Nordlandsykehuset HF.
