Key activities

EPINOR combines national, local, and online activities throughout the year. The activities are designed to strengthen methodological competence, support peer learning, and build an active national community for PhD candidates in epidemiology.

Main events:

Q1: Online kick-off

The year starts with an online kick-off webinar introducing the annual real-life case challenge. This provides an opportunity to discuss a current health, healthcare, or welfare challenge and consider relevant epidemiological approaches.

Q2: Annual Summer School

The Summer School is EPINOR’s main annual in-person meeting point. It includes training in epidemiological methods and study designs, collaborative work on the annual case challenge, scientific exchange, and networking with peers, supervisors, stakeholders, and invited experts. Most likely takes place in June.

Q4: Young Investigator Day at NOFE

The Young Investigator Day is organised in connection with the annual meeting of the Norwegian Epidemiological Association (NOFE). It is a national arena for PhD candidates to meet, present and discuss research, explore current topics in epidemiology, and expand their professional networks. Most likely takes places in October.

Activities throughout the year

EPINOR members can take part in local PhD activities, the online seminar series, and relevant courses offered by EPINOR and partner universities. These activities provide opportunities for methodological discussions, career development, peer support, and collaboration across institutions.
