Membership
EPINOR is a national research school for PhD candidates with projects within epidemiology. Projects are considered relevant when they address epidemiological questions or apply epidemiological data, study designs, or methods to topics such as disease risk, population health, healthcare, welfare, work, medication use, or environmental exposures.
Applicants should briefly describe their project’s relevance to epidemiology in the application form (maximum 1,000 characters).
Eligibility is assessed on the basis of the individual PhD project and not the applicant’s research group, department, or publication record. Previous publications in epidemiology and affiliation with an epidemiological research environment are not required.
We welcome applications from PhD candidates enrolled in PhD programmes at all Norwegian universities. Membership is compatible with participation in other research schools and networks. EPINOR primarily serves PhD candidates. Postdoctoral researchers may participate in selected activities, such as online seminars and local events, where capacity allows.
Expectations for members
Members are encouraged to take an active part in EPINOR activities, including the annual Summer School, Young Investigator Day, and local activities. They are also invited to contribute to the EPINOR community by sharing experiences, presenting their work, engaging in peer learning, and building professional networks.
Application process
Applications are submitted through Nettskjema (University of Oslo). They are processed by the EPINOR coordinator at UiT in collaboration with administrative contacts at NTNU, UiB, and UiO.
Applications are assessed for relevance to epidemiology. Applicants will receive a decision by email, normally within one month.
The EPINOR Steering Group will be regularly informed about membership numbers and newly admitted members.
