Izabela Hager (F) is a professor at Cracow University of Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering (CUT), Poland. Head of Chair of Building Materials Engineering (2016-present). Academic interests and research focus on structural materials: manufacturing and service performances, and innovative and sustainable new building materials. Prof. Izabela Hager has experience in the development and design of concretebased binders based on industrial waste, the testing of properties and durability issues of building materials with special attention to fire conditions, the resistance to freeze-thaw and chlorine attack and also the application of fibers.

Sunna Ólafsdóttir Wallevik finished her M.Sc. degree in inorganic chemistry from the University of Iceland in 2008 and MBA degree in 2016. In 2008 she began working for the Innovation Center Iceland as a Project manager and team leader in the department of Materials, Biotechnology and Energy, where she worked on cement based materials, borehole slurries/well cement, environmentally friendly binders and geopolymer technology. In 2014, she founded Gerosion and has been the project leader for the main projects that the company has undertaken. Her expertise in binder technology has made her an in-demand consultant for domestic and international industrial companies.

Jan Přikryl has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in geology from Masaryk University, Czech Republic, and Ph.D. in geochemistry from University of Iceland. Jan is working as a researcher and project manager in Gerosion since 2017. Jan has extensive multi-disciplinary knowledge in fluid-solid interactions. He is familiar with field, experimental, and modelling research methods.

Dr. Lukáš Fiala has a M.S.E.E. degree in Electronics and Computer Science & Engineering and Ph.D. in Physical and Material Engineering from the Czech Technical University in Prague. He focuses on material science in civil engineering with a special emphasis on the design, optimization and characterization of multifunctional construction materials based on alternative cementless alkali-activated binders. His projects involved the development and investigation of self-heating alkali-activated aluminosilicates. Dr. Fiala cooperates and shares knowledge with other workplaces focused on geopolymers design and characterization, e.g., National Ilan University (Taiwan), CUT Cracow (Poland).

Karel Drašner has a degree in BSc. degree in material sciences and continues with master studies in material science and applied measurements. He worked at CHEMSTR-ŠAFAŘÍK in the position of application technologist developing application methods and continued as a composite coating engineer. He is currently in the position of manager for development and research with the search for applications in-situ. Besides his experience with geopolymers, he is also experienced in development of polymeric base composite coatings used as a protection for heavy used machine parts undergoing accelerated overuse. With respect to the boost of new applications development, he also focuses on searching for new machinery in the field of surface preparations.

Dr. Kristján Friðrik Alexandersson has a B.Sc. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Iceland and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry from the University of Oxford. He is an expert in the field of material science and has taken part in many projects regarding the investigation of alternative binders for the building sector and energy intensive industries. Kristjan is a specialist particularly regarding cement free binders, cementitious materials, well cement slurries and waste management. Kristjan is also an expert in quantum chemical calculations and statistics.

Robert Černý

Prof. Robert Černý is the head of the Department of Materials Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague with a wide portfolio of papers published in high-ranked journals in the field of building materials (more than 260 papers, h-index: 35, more than 3.300 citations excluded self-citations). He focuses on variety of material science topics, e.g., transport phenomena in porous materials, new advanced materials, renovation materials for cultural heritage, materials for the circular economy, utilization of waste within the design of building materials, etc. Prof. Černý was the principal investigator or co-investigator of numerous national basic and applied research projects (including the prestigious Excellence project) focused on materials science in civil engineering supported by the Czech Science Foundation, Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Education Youth and Sports, as well as he participated in European and international bilateral projects. He has solved the problematics of alkaliactivated materials / geopolymers in several projects dealing with, e.g., alkali activation of metakaolin, ceramic powder, or slag. Within GEOSUMAT, he will offer valuable experiences, mentoring, and recommendations in the field of geopolymers design & optimization.

Patrycja Bazan is a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Cracow University of Technology, where she completed engineering and master's studies in the field of Materials Engineering. Since 2016, she has been a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Materials Science and Physics, CUT, where she has been working on polymers and composites based on thermoplastics and geopolymer materials. In 2018, she opened a doctoral dissertation entitled "Shaping the strength and tribological properties of composites based on polyoxymethylene." Author/co-author of numerous publications in scientific journals and peer-reviewed post-conference publications.
