27.01.2021: Continuing home office, but gradually re-opening for in-person course delivery
UiT is gradually opening up for face-to-face instruction opportunities at our campuses. The majority of the course delivery will continue to be digital. The current scheme for the use of home offices for employees will continue.
After 1 February, several selected student groups at UiT will be offered face-to-face instruction opportunities at least once a week. The face-to-face instruction will take place in small groups and in line with current infection control rules. The decision is in accordance with the Government's recommendations and advice from local infection control authorities. The scheme will be introduced gradually, and students will be notified about their schedule through their study program.
We encourage employees and students who have stayed in areas with higher levels of infection for the last ten days get tested in accordance with the municipality of residence’s advice for testing, after arrival on campus. We also recommend reducing social contact with others during the first ten days.
We encourage everyone to pay extra attention to potential covid-19 symptoms. If you are unsure of whether you should get tested or not, you may go through the «Corona-check» on Helsenorge’s website. You may find information from the municipal health service at UiT's campuses here.
Our campuses are currently considered to be «municipalities with low infection». We know from experience that the level of infection can change quickly both locally and nationally, and the established measures will therefore apply until further notice. Follow the website of your municipality of residence for local advice, recommendations and contact information for testing. For more information about measures at UiT, see en.uit.no/corona.
Please contact your study program if are a student and you have any further questions. Employees may contact their closest leader.
Sincerely,
Anne Husebekk, Rector
Jørgen Fossland, University Director
