Welcome to the top of the world! Longyearbyen is where most of Svalbard's inhabitants live. And even though the city is located at 78ºN, it is a modern and vibrant family community. Here is a school, kindergartens, sports and swimming hall, university centre, folk high school, local newspaper, shops, restaurants, hospital and church. Longyearbyen also has an active and diverse cultural life.
