On 22 February 2024, the UiT organises a full-day conference to mark ten years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and two years of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.

The event brings together legal scholars, political scientists, and historians to discuss the impact of the war on people and culture in Ukraine, the war’s consequences for the world’s geopolitical situation, hybrid warfare methods, and the importance of achieving justice for atrocity crimes committed in Ukraine. Among the distinguished speakers joining the event are Oleksandra Matviichuk, a Ukrainian human rights lawyer, founder and leader of the Centre for Civil Liberties – the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.
