The University Library's Privacy Policy
This privacy policy describes how the UiT University Library collects and uses personal data. The policy contains information to which you are entitled when data is collected (Personal Data Act, GDPR section 13, 1) and general information about how we process personal data (Personal Data Act, GDPR section 5, 1).
Alma
The Library system Alma. Alma is an app and a platform for digital library services. Alma defines the library rules, users and rights, and supports processes for acquisitions, loans, administration of inventory and metadata, financial management and reporting. Alma is integrated with a number of systems for data exchange related to the library’s work processes.

BrowZine
The University Library makes BrowZine available to students and staff at UiT. The use of BrowZine is voluntary. The University Library does not collect personal data about you when you use this service. The information you provide to BrowZine is held on servers in the USA. Please note that by using this service you are accepting BrowZine’s privacy policy.
EndNote
UiT makes the reference tool EndNote available to students and staff at UiT. It is voluntary to use EndNote. We draw your attention to the fact that by using the service you accept the terms and conditions of EndNote.

EZproxy
EZproxy uses UiTs own authentication solution (AD), and stores information on the deviced used. The following data about your web traffic :
- IP address of the device you use to connect to the service
- URL of the online resource you wish to gain access to
- Date and time of connection
- HTTP method, HTTP code and payload size for the connection
- Session ID generated by EZproxy
- Username of your account at UiT
- Your data is not shared with a third party.
Nettskjema
Nettskjema is a tool for designing and conducting online surveys. The field of application extends from making basic forms form for application, registration and quizes, to being frontend for highly sensitive research investigations and customized mobile apps for collecting health information integrated with Sensitive Data (TSD) Services. Nettskjema is a service provided by UiO and is available to students and employees at UiT. It is voluntary to use Nettskjema.

Oria
Oria is a database portal to the collected material found at most Norwegian subject and research libraries. Complemented by a wealth of electronic material from open sources, Oria provides a unified access to material such as books, electronic books, periodicals, electronic periodicals, documents, articles, music and films.
LibraryH3lp
UiT uses the chat service LibraryH3lp. Using LibraryH3lp is voluntary. Information about the IP address is anonymised in the 3rd and 4th sections and the content of the chat is deleted after 30 days.
Zotero
UiT makes the reference tool Zotero available to students and staff at UiT. The use of Zotero is voluntary. Please note that by using this service you are accepting Zotero’s terms and conditions.
