Oria is a search engine that can be used to find the University Library’s printed and electronic resources, including books, ebooks, articles, doctoral theses, master’s theses, music and films. You can also search materials from other academic and research libraries in Norway. Oria provides outstanding access to academic literature. It is a great option if you are looking for a specific book or article, if you require some relevant literature about a topic or if you want to request a book or article that is not available.
Searching with Oria
You can search in Oria using the search field on the front page or by going to Oria. Enter one or more keywords, for example title, author name or subject.
If you are looking for a specific book or article, it may be a good idea to use the author’s name together with one or more words from the title.

Enter one or more keywords to search by subject. If you receive too few hits, try using synonyms for the words you have chosen or use English keywords.
If you receive too many hits, there are options for narrowing down your search available in the margin on the right. Here you can narrow down your search by author, year of publication or language or choose to view only printed books or articles that have been subject to peer review.

If you want to perform a more specific search, it is a good idea to use the Advanced search option. You will then be presented with the opportunity to combine different keywords to narrow down your search.
Logging in
By logging in, you will be able to keep an overview of your borrowing and requests, save searches and references and request materials that are not available. More information about logging in can be found here.
