A research seminar was held at Riga Technical University focusing on advancements in smart manufacturing, logistics, and Industry 5.0.
On May 28, Dr. Hao Yu, Prof. Wei Deng Solvang, and Prof. Bjørn Solvang visited Riga Technical University. A research seminar was given to the students in the Master's Programme of Supply Chain Management. Prof. Bjørn Solvang delivered a thought-provoking presentation titled "Education and Research: Transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0," which explored the evolving landscape of technological advancements in the industry. Dr. Hao Yu followed with a talk on "Optimization and Simulation Methods in Smart Manufacturing and Logistics," highlighting the innovative tools and techniques shaping the future of supply chains.
This seminar was part of two ongoing collaborative initiatives aimed at advancing the field of smart logistics and critical infrastructure security. The first project, "Promoting Cyber Security for Critical Infrastructures/2023," is supported by the Nordplus Programme, while the second, "Industry 5.0 Enabled Smart Logistics: A Global Perspective," is funded by the Utforsk Programme. These collaborations underscore a shared commitment to pioneering research and knowledge exchange in key areas of modern supply chain management.
