A researcher from UiT participated at GNP 2024 conference

Discover the latest developments in geopolymer research as UiT - The Arctic University of Technology, in collaboration with Cracow University of Technology, shares insights from the GEOSUMAT project at the 9th International Conference “Civil Engineering – Science and Practice” in Montenegro.

UiT - The Arctic University of Technology, in partnership with Cracow University of Technology, showcased advancements in geopolymer research at the 9th International Conference “Civil Engineering – Science and Practice” (GNP 2024) in Kolašin, Montenegro, held from 5-9 March 2024. Organized by the University of Montenegro, the conference served as a platform to exchange recent achievements and explore the latest developments in civil engineering science and practice.

During the conference, the development in fabrication and new findings within the Work Package 3 of GEOSUMAT project were presented. Dr. Sofija Kekez delivered a presentation titled ''Investigation of Adhesion between Basalt Minibars and Geopolymer Matrix.''

The findings presented were a culmination of laboratory work conducted earlier this year at the Cracow University of technology by a dedicated team comprising Mateusz Sitarz, Tomasz Zdeb, Tomasz tracz, Sofija Kekez, and Izabela Hager.

The participation of UiT - The Arctic University of Technology and Cracow University of Technology at the GNP 2024 conference signifies their dedication to pushing the boundaries of geopolymer research and contributing to the global dialogue on sustainable infrastructure development. As the project continues to evolve, it promises to drive positive change and foster a more sustainable future in civil engineering and construction.
