Phrase search
Phrase search
Phrase searching gives you the ability to search for articles by a phrase/expression. In most databases, the phrase must be placed in double quotation marks, for example, "skin cancer". This is very useful if the combination of words that make up the phrase is very common.
Ovid databases automatically search multiple words put together as a phrase. Therefore, you do not need to use quotation marks when searching in Ovid Medline, Ovid Embase, and Ovid PsycINFO. This also applies to PubMed if you use field search for example Body Temperature [Title/Abstract]. If you do NOT want succesive words to be searched as a phrase in these databases, you must use the operator AND between the words.
