Research interests:
Fish taxonomy, systematics, ecology and population genetics. Skates (Rajidae) is of main interest, but also Arctic fishes in general. I am more interested in fish species others does not care about.

Research interests:
My research focus on the ancient history of complex life. Based especially in the Precambrian-Cambrian deposits of Finnmark, northern Norway, we are looking at life and Earth history through comprehensive studies of key localities.
I also have a soft spot for unravelling the affinities of problematic fossil organisms, reconstructing their life histories and functional morphology.
