Information for other libraries

The University Library at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway offers inter-library loan services to libraries in and outside of Norway.

Inter-library loans must be requested via the library user’s own library system or Oria. Please see the guidance from Sikt. (Only available in Norwegian)

The University Library does not process inter-library loan requests for the following materials:

• older materials
• folio format
• teaching materials and upper secondary school materials

Please also note that certain types of material may be subject to “no inter-library loan” conditions for other reasons.

Inter-library loans have an initial loan period of 3 weeks. The loan can be renewed after this period via the library user’s own library system, or by contacting us at post@ub.uit.no.
The maximum loan period is 168 days, which means that the loan can be renewed up to 8 times, provided there is no waiting list for the material.

The University Library will prioritise its own library users if necessary.
