Requesting materials from our libraries

You can make a request if the materials you need are already lent out, the materials are not available at your campus, or you need to request home delivery.

  • Go to Oria and click “Log in” in the top right corner.
  • Search for the materials you want to request.
  • In the “Get It” menu, click the blue “Request” button.
  • Enter the desired pickup location and any comments.
  • Click “Request” to confirm.

You will now be added to a waiting list and will receive a pickup notice when the materials are ready for collection. The materials will be subject to a pickup deadline of three (3) working days. If the materials are not collected by then they will be passed on to the next person on the waiting list or returned to the owner library.

Students (remote/decentralised students) that live far away from the place of study and do not regularly visit campus can request materials for delivery to the address registered in Studentweb. Select “Home address” as the pickup location in the menu. The book you have requested will be retrieved from the shelf and sent to your home address. If there is a waiting list, you will be added to a queue and an available copy of the book will be sent to you when it is your turn. NOTE: Please note that postal delivery may take some time! The guaranteed borrowing period is 14 days and runs from the day on which the library completes the request. After this, the lending period will be automatically renewed if there is no waiting list. You will receive a message from the library when you need to return the book. Return postage must be covered by the student.

Note: You do not need to request books that are kept on library shelves, but simply collect the books from the shelf.
